The Yucca Fins Wedge Beach Clean Up With Surfrider Foundation
Nearly 300 volunteers. 673 pounds of trash. One beach we care a lot about.
On September 19, Yucca Fins teamed up with the Surfrider Foundation to give the Wedge a little love. Nearly 300 people signed up to join us for a morning of cleaning up one of the most iconic stretches of coastline in our backyard. Together, we collected 673 pounds of trash - a pretty incredible reminder of what can happen when a community shows up for a place they care about.
And people really showed up.
Yucca Fins has always been about more than just getting in the water. We're lucky to call Costa Mesa home, with the Wedge just down the road, and we don't take that proximity for granted. The ocean, the beaches, and the people who spend their time in them are a huge part of who we are. That's why getting involved in protecting these places matters to us.
A Big Thank You
To everyone who signed up, showed up, picked up trash, hauled bags, and spent their Saturday morning giving back: thank you. To the Surfrider Foundation, thank you for the work you do every day to protect our coastlines and for partnering with us to make this cleanup happen. And to Hola Adios Coffee, thank you for keeping our volunteers caffeinated and serving coffee to everyone who came out. We couldn't think of a better way to start the morning.
Most of all, thank you to the nearly 300 people who made the effort to be there. The 673 pounds of trash is the number we'll remember, but the turnout is what really got us stoked.
This Is Our Backyard
The Wedge isn't just a famous surf spot to us. It's part of our community. It's where we surf, where we test gear, where we spend time with friends, and where a lot of Yucca's story has unfolded. Taking care of it feels less like a responsibility and more like taking care of home.
We'll keep doing our part to protect the places that give us so much.
