Scraps Don't Get Tossed. They Get Turned Back Into Fins.

Making a swim fin from rubber leaves offcuts behind. Every time a fin comes out of the mold, there's trimmed material that doesn't end up in the final product. In most factories, that material goes in the trash.

We didn't love that. So we make use of that material where we can.

What are Scraps Fins?

Scraps fins are exactly what they sound like. The leftover rubber from our manufacturing process goes back into the material and gets molded into new fins. The rubber is EUDR compliant, so it meets the EU's standards for deforestation-free supply chains. The material gets a second life on your feet.

We use scrap material across a variety of styles, not just one special edition. It's part of how we make fins.

Why It Matters

Less waste. Rubber is a premium material and we'd rather use it than throw it out. Putting scraps back into production means less ends up in a landfill.

Longer material life. Every pound of rubber has already been grown, harvested, shipped, and processed. Getting a second use out of it respects all of that work.

Same fin. Reusing scraps doesn't mean giving up anything you'd expect from a Yucca. It's still a fin built for the water.

The Yucca Fin, In Short

If you haven't tried a Yucca before, here's what makes them work:

  • Premium Malaysian rubber. A stiff blade for power, a soft foot pocket for all-day comfort.
  • Anatomical fit. Snug and secure, it moves with your foot instead of against it.
  • Angled side rails. They channel water for more drive, control, and stability in all conditions.
  • Four flex options. Standard, Soft, Super, and Ultra Soft, so you can match the fin to your strength, the conditions, and how you like to swim.
  • Symmetrical design. No left or right. Grab and go, which lifeguards appreciate.
  • Buoyant construction. They float, so they're easy to find in heavy surf.
  • Drainage holes and a textured "+" traction pattern. Trapped water doesn't weigh you down, and your feet stay planted even when they're wet.

Sean Starky started Yucca Fins because he couldn't find fins that worked the way he needed them to in the water. We're still a small team of water athletes in Costa Mesa, and every fin is tested in real conditions, whether that's long sessions, heavy surf, or training swims. Lifeguards, bodysurfers, and swimmers wear them, and you'll find them in 200+ retail doors worldwide.

Same Fin, Better Use of the Rubber

Scraps fins are built to the same standard as every other Yucca. The only thing that changed is where the material came from. If you're choosing between styles, choose the one that fits your feet and the water you swim in. If it happens to be a scraps fin, you're also keeping good rubber out of the trash.
